​Thomas D. Williams Bio

​Thomas D. Williams is a native Californian that migrated to Utah in 1969.

After attending UCLA he completed a Bachelors Degree at Brigham Young University (B.S. 1973), followed by a Master’s Degree from the University of Utah (M. ED. 1984) and a second Master’s Degree from the University of Phoenix in school counseling (M. S.C., 1999). Tom holds a current teachers license in education, as well as certification in Special Education: Severe Emotional Disturbance/Behavioral Disorder, & Mild to Moderate Learning Disabilities.

Thomas has taught in public education in subject areas ranging from Elementary Math, English, History, & Science to High School Algebra, US and World History, and Biological Science for 29 years, 20 years of which was with special needs students in grades 6-12. He has worked in the Mental Health area as an Adolescent Day Treatment Coordinator, Counselor in a residential treatment center for Schizophrenic Adolescent children, and for the State Office of Education evaluating cognitive skill levels in students qualifying for Special Education. Tom has been working as a middle school and high school counselor for more than 11 years, and is currently a counselor at Brighton High School in the Canyons School District.

Tom is a former Certified Ski Instructor, surfer, bicycle racer, & and is still hot and heavy into backcountry skiing. He is married to the incomparable Lesly Jean Drake. They have 6 children, 13 grandchildren, a herd of Collies and Shelties, and 4 parrots.
